HARDWARE BURGLARIZED; GUNS, SAFE TAKEN Local and State Police are investigating the burgulary [sic] Saturday night of Boggs' Hardware, Main Street, Grayson.
J. D. Boggs, owner of the hardware, told this newspaper Tuesday that about 20 or 25 guns of several varieties were taken during the burgulary [sic]. Thieves also took several watches and radios.
In addition to merchandise, thieves took the store's safe. Boggs said that evidence showed the combination of the safe was knocked off at the store. He said that the safe was taken because it could not be opened.
Entry was gained by forcing open the front door. Boggs said locks and a bar was [sic] broken off the back door.
The safe, he said, was loaded from the rear in an alley that runs between Main and Second Streets.
This is the second hardware store to be burglarized in Grayson within the past month.
The Davis Hardware, also on Main Street, was burgularized [sic] along with two garages and a motel in March.
At Davis Hardward [sic] a number of watches and radios were taken.
Thieves beat the combination off Davis' safe, but could not open it.
The safe was left --in a ruined condition-- in the store.
