James Franklin Felty (1945-2007)

Frank Felty, 61, of Grayson, passed away Friday, June 29.

He was born in Carter County Aug. 8, 1945, a son of the late Mason Franklin and Goldie Burton Felty. He was the husband of Bonnie White Felty.

Frank had worked for the Carter County Maintenance Department and he was a disabled United States Army Veteran from the Vietnam War. He had received the Purple Heart Medal.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; two daughters, Leslie (O.J.) Daniel of Cannonsburg and Frankie Colligs of Grayson; three sons, Mason (Amy) Felty of Rush, George (Kim) Felty of Grayson, and Curtis (Jody) Felty of Grayson; one sister, Marcella Gollihue of Grayson; and one brother, Charles “Chank” Felty of Grayson; nine grandchildren, Noah, Chelsea, Marvin, Reid, Josi, Levi, Brady, Macy and Skylar.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Jean Bush, and two brothers, Ray and Bill Felty.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 3, at 2 p.m. at the Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson with George Boggs, minister, officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Burton Family Cemetery on Canoe Run near Grayson. Graveside military rites will be provided by the American Legion Post 138 in Olive Hill.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
