VIRGINIA BUTLER CONTINENTAL -- Funeral services for Virginia Butler, 82, of Continental, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Bethel Church, Olive Hill, Ky., the Rev. Roy Butler officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, Olive Hill. Visitation will be held from noon to 8 p.m. today at Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Continental. Visitation also will be held from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Oney-Henderson Funeral Home, Olive Hill. Mrs. Butler died at 10 p.m. Sunday, June 27, 1999 in Continental. She was born Sept. 24, 1916 in Olive Hill, Ky. to Edmund and Bertha (Fultz) Lawhun. She married Romie Butler on Dec. 24, 1935, and he died May 20, 1980. Surviving are six sons, Grover, Quinton, Connie and Grady, all of Continental; Buffard of Defiance; Adrian of Napoleon; five daughters, Mrs. James (Freda) Baker, Richmond, Ind.; Mrs. Robert (Carol) Purdy, Holgate; Mrs. Fred (Kathy) Smith, Napoleon; Mrs. John (Cookie) Stout, Grelton; Mrs. Steven (Gloria) Small, Wauseon; 27 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a sister, America Butler. Mrs. Butler was a retired homemaker. She was a member of North Creek United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to Putnam County Home Health or to a charity of the donor's choice.
