Ethel M. Porter - 1920-2007

Ethel M. Porter, 87, of Johnson Creek, Ky., passed away Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2007, in Elliott County Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Sandy Hook, Ky.

She was born Jan. 23, 1920, at Bruin, Ky., the daughter of the late Clifford and Minnie Lewis Evans. 
She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Russell Porter; a son, James Calvin Porter; and five brothers and sisters, 
Ernest Evans, Glen Evans, Beulah Maggard, Bert Evans and Gladys Walker.

Mrs. Porter was a member of Little Fork United Baptist Church, a homemaker and a loving mother and grandmother.

She is survived by four children, Talmadge and wife Doris of Greenup, Ky., Clarence and wife Phyllis of Baltimore, Ohio, 
Minnie and husband Jack of Baltimore and Tim and wife Fannie of Olive Hill, Ky.; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 
a great-great-grandchild; four brothers, Emil and wife Margret Evans of Maryland, Lowell Evans of Bruin, Drew Evans of Olive Hill 
and Billy and wife Linda Evans of Louisville, Ky.; a sister, Geneva Porter of Grayson, Ky.; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. today, Aug. 24, 2007, at Lewis & Ferguson Funeral Home in Sandy Hook with ministers Russell Griffith, 
Patrick Blevins and Jimmy Adkins officiating. Burial will be in Elliott County Memory Gardens.

Friends may call after 8:30 a.m. today at the funeral home.
