EDGEL PRATER FROM SPRINGFIELD (OH) NEWS-SUN 2/15/07 Edgel D. Prater, 95, of Enon, OH passed away February 12, 2007 at Hearth & Care Rehabilitation & Nursing in Greenfield (OH). He was born October 12, 1911 in Grayson, KY to the late Franklin and Ezel Prater. Edgel was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church and a member of Masonic Clark Lodge 101 in Springfield. He retired from Wright Patterson Air Force Base. Edgel enjoyed going camping and working in his garden. He is survived by his wife Garnet, of Enon; four daughters and sons-in-law: Harriet Webb of Fairborn, OH; Evelyn and Jack McKenna of Henderson, NV; Sandra and James Padgitt of Mt. Pleasant, SC;and Helen and Steve Chrisman of Hillsboro, OH; eight grandchildren: Jeffrey Crabtree, Charlton (Brad) Webb, Julie Hutchison, Jim Padgitt, C. S. (Chip) Chrisman, Jason Padgitt, India Chrisman, and Jon Crabtree; eight great-grandchildren, and numerous family and friends. Edgel was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Nancy Pearl Prater and Velom Buck; a brother, Victor Prater; and a son-in-law, Harry Webb. Funeral services will be conducted Noon February 17, 2007 in ADKINS FUNERAL HOME, 7055 Dayton Road, Enon, with Pastor David W. Yingling officiating. Burial will follow the service in Enon Cemetery. Edgel's family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
