John Stamper, 93, of Olive Hill, died Wednesday at his home.

Mr. Stamper was born Nov. 27, 1903, in Carter County, a son of the late Albert and Ella Davis Stamper.

His wife, Ethel Humphries Stamper, preceded him in death.

He was a farmer and a Baptist.

Surviving are four sons, Estill Glen Stamper, Virgil Ray Stamper, John Henry Stamper and Clinton Stamper, all of Olive Hill; 
two daughters, Margie Lois Sorrell of Flatwoods and Edna Mae Kitchen of Olive Hill; 
three brothers, Charlie Stamper of Olive Hill, Wilburn Stamper of Lucasville, Ohio, and Ruby Edwin Stamper of Mansfield, Ohio; 
two sisters, Leeanna McCoy of Pickerington, Ohio, and Martha Dugan of Portsmouth, Ohio; 18 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Oney-Henderson Funeral Home in Olive Hill by Hansel Webb. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery.
