Verla M. Rose Verla M. Rose, age 78, of Canton, passed away Thursday morning in Aultman Hospital following an extended illness. She was born March 2, 1927 in Olive Hill, KY, daughter to the late Thurston and Grace Webb. Verla was a retired school teacher, having taught at Fairmont Elementary School for 27 years, she was also a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Hershey Webb and sister, Geneva Parrish. She is survivied by her husband of 50 1/2 years, James F. Rose of the home; two brothers and sister-in-law, Kermit and Lorene Webb of Kentucky, Ferrell Webb of Indiana; brother-in-law, Paul (Marillynn) Rose of Canton; sister-in-law, Imogene (Thomas) Clemens of Canton. There are numerous beloved nieces and nephews also surviving. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Dave Harmon officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Calling hours will be held Sunday afternoon from 2-5 p.m. in the funeral home.
